The inner piece swings round its track and seats with a click you can feel through your thumb.

This is the quiet one. Every surface is cut with fine concentric engraving, the kind you normally see on a watch dial, and the inner slug runs in a routed track so it swings from one end to the other and stops dead. There is no noise and no motion to catch anyone's eye - it is the one you can use across a table from someone without them noticing.
