About S&S Village

Our Story

S&S Village started at our kitchen table in Singapore, not in a boardroom.

Our kids could never keep their hands still. Pens, erasers, whatever was within reach, it all got twisted and squeezed and pulled apart. So we started buying them things that were actually meant to be handled. A squishy here, a little printed toy there.

Some were lovely. Most fell apart within a week, or turned up looking nothing like the photo.

That got annoying, and then it got interesting. We started ordering samples ourselves, keeping the ones our two kept coming back to, and quietly binning the rest. What's on this site is what survived that. We still do it the same way.

We're a family business, still small, still working it out as we go.

What's in the shop

Squishies. Soft things you squeeze. Foods, fruits, animals, characters. You press one and it dents under your thumb, then slowly rounds back out. Some crunch when you squeeze them, which is the part our kids liked best and the part we underestimated completely.

Fidgets. Things that spin, twist and click. Gear balls where turning one face turns all the others, spiral cones that keep going once you set them off, little spheres that twist open into a bloom and close again. These are the ones that end up in a pocket and come out during every long phone call.

Articulated pieces. Things that bend along their whole length. Octopuses, cobras and starfish with joints running end to end, so they curl and droop and ripple when you lift them. Each one is printed in a single piece, so nothing is glued or assembled. The joints simply work the moment it comes off the printer, which is a small thing that never stops being satisfying.

Three different kinds of object, same idea behind all of them: small enough for a pocket or a desk, interesting enough that you keep picking it up. Bought for kids, mostly. Kept on a lot of adult desks too, including ours.
